What Does Retirement Look Like For You?

What’s Retirement Look Like?

April’s blog posts here at The Factory are going to center around retirement and retirement planning.  I often wonder about what retirement will look like.  I am not even sure if I will even want to retire.  I know it is an important goal for most people.  I love what I do and am excited to work every day and as long is that is the case I don’t think I will ever want to stop helping people.

I know that may be a little extreme I am sure there will come a time when I hang up my calculator and planning software I just can’t visualize what that will look like.  Thankfully I have a long time worry about that and in the mean time I will continue to fund my retirement and prepare for what will inevitably come one day in the future.

I discuss the concept of retirement with all of my clients.  Most of who are still a long way from reaching that day.  It is also really interesting because everyone’s idea of retirement is different.  For some it is the ability to do whatever they want with their time.  Other’s it is moving to the beach or the mountains.  Some of my clients see themselves traveling the world and living for months at time in different parts of the world.

I think the common thread I can find with all of my clients when it comes to retirement can be summed up in one word:

FREEDOM!

Now that word can mean lots of different things but I think my clients view retirement as a point when they are free to do whatever they want without that decision causing them irreparable financial harm or difficulty.

What do you see when you think about retirement?

Is the thought scary to you?

Does the thought of retirement keep you up a night?

Are you on track to be able to retire? Do you even know?

Would you like some help assessing your retirement?

April is retirement awareness month for Thorium Wealth Management.  Call me if you have questions about your retirement situation.
